By bringing together product, supplier, material, compliance, sustainability, and sales data into a single platform, the solution enables faster decisions, greater transparency, and improved readiness for evolving regulations.

As manufacturers face increasingly complex compliance requirements, fragmented product data has become one of the biggest obstacles to responding quickly to customers and regulatory changes. Rather than building a standalone compliance tool, HUBER+SUHNER and Log-hub created a connected product data platform that integrates ERP, PLM, supplier, and compliance information into a structured data model. Processed through KNIME and visualized in Power BI, the platform provides a single source of truth for material compliance while supporting broader business and sustainability initiatives.

Originally developed as a proof of concept, the platform has evolved into a production solution with 16 tailored Power BI dashboards supporting different user groups across the business. More importantly, its underlying data model is already being reused for additional initiatives, including carbon footprint calculations, data quality improvements, and future Digital Product Passport capabilities.

The impact has been immediate. Previously, assessing new regulations required manual data collection from multiple systems, cross-functional coordination, and time-consuming reviews of Bills of Materials, often taking days or even weeks. Today, regulatory impact assessments can be completed within minutes. During the renewal of the RoHS 6 and 7 exemption series,

HUBER+SUHNER quickly identified affected products and their associated sales volumes, enabling earlier action by sourcing, product management, and R&D. The platform also allows teams to trace substances such as PFAS or rare earth elements across the product portfolio in minutes instead of reviewing products individually.

Beyond improving efficiency, the platform gives management greater visibility into compliance risks, supplier data quality, and the business impact of regulatory changes. As adoption expands, HUBER+SUHNER expects to reduce manual effort for customer compliance requests by approximately 20%, with long-term potential to achieve savings of up to 60%.
