Air Algerie flight resumes flights to Lebanon after one-year hiatus

(MENAFN) Air Algerie resumed direct flights to Lebanon Thursday, landing at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport after more than a year of suspension. The service will operate twice weekly.

The resumption follows an agreement reached during a July 29 meeting in Algiers between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Lebanese Minister of Information Paul Morcos welcomed the flight as a symbol of bilateral friendship, while Algerian Ambassador Kamal Bou Shama emphasized plans for broader cooperation in media, energy, reconstruction, and trade.

Flights were previously halted amid regional tensions on Aug. 1, 2024.
